Faces in The Nest Greetings!   June already?  That means one thing...school is out and the kids are at home.  Do you have plans to keep them busy this summer?  Sure, you have a couple of things on the calendar, but what about those days in between.  Let The Nest help!  As always, we've planned lots of exciting play and learning activities to help your kiddos burn off their summer energy (and boredom).  Drop them off...we'd love to see them! SUMMER ENRICHMENT CLASSES  In between your trips to the park, visits to the zoo, and family vacations, be sure to bring your kids in to The Nest to enjoy our fun-filled enrichment classes offered during the months of July and August.  Each month focuses on a different theme, and includes many fun activities sure to keep your little ones actively learning during the long months of summer.  Sessions will be held July 5th-29th and August 2nd-26th. For specific class days and times, please check out our Summer Class schedule. As always, flexible, drop-off play is available before and after class. Choose one month or both...the choice is yours!  Drop in or call us at 425.415.6378 to register. NEW HOURS AND PRICES We'd like to remind you of a couple of changes taking place at The Nest.  Our new hours are now Monday through Friday, 9 am - 4 pm, and Saturdays, 4 pm - 10 pm.  We will be CLOSED Saturday, July 3rd in celebration of Independence Day. Effective June 1, 2010, our new hourly rate is $9 and additional siblings are $5.  As always, we will continue to offer Pre-Purchase Packages for savings and convenience. **Please note that we will honor the current rates for all packages purchased prior to June 1st.  SUMMER SATURDAYS Nothing says summer better than a quiet stroll in the park, patio dining at your favorite restaurant, backyard BBQs, and evening weddings.  But if none of those tickle your fancy, we've gone ahead and found a few more things that might.  How about the Summer Concert Series at Chateau Ste. Michelle, Kirkland Uncorked, outdoor concerts at Marymoor Park, or Bite of Seattle.  Coincidentally, all of these events take place on Saturday evenings and so do Parent Night's Out at The Nest!  If you plan to enjoy any fun summertime celebrations, be sure to call on us for your childcare needs.  As usual, we are open Saturday nights this summer for kiddos ages 2-9 to enjoy art projects, G-rated movies, games, Wii, and new friendships. Whatever, whenever, the time is yours...go have fun and leave the childcare to us! **Please note:  Reservations are STRONGLY recommended.  The Nest will be closed Saturdays, July 3rd and September 4th.     DUVALL DAYS Don't miss Duvall Days this Saturday, June 5th.  Events include the annual "Run Hills, Run Fast" 5k/10k, a parade, street dance, fireworks, and more. With booths and plenty of fun activities for families, it's sure to be a great day!  Serendipity Photography, a local Duvall studio, will also be there...stop by their booth for a free FaceBook image, as well as 50% off any summer portrait session booked during Duvall Days. We have enjoyed meeting so many wonderful moms at The Nest and want to celebrate all that each of you do for your children.  Congratulations to the following winners of our May Mother's Day drawing... 1st Prize winner of an Oasis Gift Certificate and 4 FREE hours of drop off play: JOELLE RILEY 2nd Prize winner of a Molback's Gift Certificate and 2 FREE hours of drop off play: JOY CORBIN 3rd Prize winner of a Starbuck's Gift Card and 1 FREE hour of drop off play: HEATHER HIXSON FACES IN THE NEST Speaking of congratulating great moms...we have a very special mom-to-be that we want to congratulate!  Jenn Barchet, who has been with us from the beginning, is expecting not one, but TWO sweet babies this fall.  We all know how busy one baby can keep us, let alone twins, and for that reason Jenn has decided to make motherhood her full-time job.  Just as she has done a fantastic job as Director of The Nest, she will be just as wonderful of a mother.  We wish Jenn and her husband, Alex, nothing but the very best and look forward to the arrival of their twins. As sad as we are to say good-bye to Jenn, we are just as excited to announce Nichelle Villanti as our new Director and Miranda Noe as Assistant Director.  Both have been with us since we opened and are familiar faces to you and your children.  They, along with teacher,  Amy Clark, have been an invaluable part of our Nest team and will continue to do a great job. Recently joining our Nest team have been Alex McCarthy and Emily Zehm who work with us regularly on Parent's Night Out, and coming on board in June will be Courtney Carlson, as a full-time teacher, and April Nakata and Courtney Yandell, both as part-time teachers.  We welcome all of them to our center and know you and your kids will love them!
