FAQ’s

What does The Nest offer?

We offer your child a playful learning experience while you tend to your life’s demands. We are an interactive learning place for your children. Enroll them in our daily class anytime between 9am-4pm daily for up to 4 hours, and enjoy some productive time away. Return to find happy, eager learners!

What do I need to do?

Simply register online for your preferred classes and come on in! When you arrive for the first time you will pay the $30 annual registration fee and sign a liability form. Safety first!

What should I bring?

We are a shoe-free facility, so your child must wear socks at all times. We have plenty of extras to borrow during your stay. For small children, be sure to also bring diapers as diapers are okay. If you are joining us for lunch time, remember we are a strictly nut-free facility. Cubbies are located in the lobby for your child’s belongings. Don’t forget to label!

What should I leave at home?

For safety and health reasons, we do not allow foods that contain nuts. We also ask that you leave your toys at home. Sometimes children need a snuggly item, and therefore a soft blanket or other small comfort item, is welcome. Our play space is a time for new discovery, and we encourage children to try new activities!

What will my children eat?

We are a nut-free facility. We provide a small snack as a free benefit during your child’s time with us. Our snack schedule rotates between: Goldfish crackers, Pirate’s Booty, graham crackers, cheese crackers and veggie straws.

How long can kids stay?

You can enroll in four hours’ worth of consecutive classes on a daily basis. We bill on the hour.

Who can pick up my child?

When you register, we’ll ask you to provide an emergency contact and the names of anyone you’d like to authorize for pickup. Your child will only be released to these individuals once they show photo ID. For security, we ask that you notify us at drop off when a different person will be picking up your child. Any adult not in our system will be required to have prior approval in writing from a custodial parent or legal guardian.

What about your staff?

We have an amazing, cheerful team of educators who have education backgrounds, children of their own, and years of experience in child development. Everyone here is first aid and CPR certified.

Is this like a babysitting service?

It is so much MORE. The NEST is a creative arts based learning center. Yes, we nurture your children while you’re away. We also offer them the opportunity to explore our sensory tables, interactive games, storytelling area, reading in our book nook, creative arts table, pretend play centers and thematic daily curriculum projects…not to mention socialization with other children. Your kids will beg to come back! Our project-based learning activities have been developed by certified teachers to offer a hands-on, playful, creative environment in which children will work together to learn through interactive play and discovery.

Can my child nap at The NEST?

Because children stay for a few hours at a time, we do not have nap time. If your child seems sleepy, there are plenty of quiet areas and soft, comfy pillows for resting. If your child is super sleepy, we will be sure to call you.

What should my child wear?

Comfortable clothing that can get messy! They’ll be learning through sensory activities, arts and organized crafts that may involve anything from paints and glue to sand and even mud. While they’re sure to have fun, there’s no guarantee their clothes will remain soil-free so please plan accordingly.

What policies do you enforce?

We adhere to strong safety and procedural regulations, rules and policies. Always feel free to speak to our owner and director for more information.
